MERZLIAKOV IURIY, senior lecturer of the Department of Technical Thermal Physics, candidate of technical sciences, became a participant in a new international project of Sumy State University, Japan International Cooperation Agency and ESD Consortium Aichi.
The project is aimed at improving engineering education. Its implementation is designed for long-term joint work and consists of three main stages.
At the opening meeting held on October 16, prof. Hidetoshi MIYAKAWA delivered the lecture "Industrial Technology Education in Japan", emphasizing the most important aspects of training engineers, including in view of the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The project involved 10 participants representing the Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy-Efficient Technologies, the Faculty of Foreign Philology and Social Communications, the Scientific and Educational Center of Industrial Engineering, the Regional Security Research Center, the Department of Pre-University Education of Sumy State University, the Sumy Machine-Building Cluster of Energy Equipment, the Sumy Specialized School of I-III degrees No. 9 of Sumy".
In February 2022, Sumy State University (Sumy, Ukraine) and the Dalgakiran company (Istanbul, Turkey) on the basis of the Department of Technical Thermophysics concluded an agreement on the provision of scientific and technical consulting services to employees of the Dalgakiran company on the study of the theory and calculations of reciprocating compressors.
According to the contract, employees of the Department of Technical Thermal Physics (Ph.D., Assoc. Serhii SHARAPOV and Ph.D., Assoc. Stanislav MELEYCHUK) and Applied Hydroaeromechanics (Ph.D., Assoc. Vitalii PANCHENKO) teach the material in English language in the total volume of 200 hours. Classes are held in the form of seminars, practical and individual classes. All teachers have appropriate certificates of foreign language proficiency.
Introductory lectures on the theory of gases and gas mixtures were conducted by Ph.D., prof. Volodymyr TURYK from the National Technical University of Ukraine "Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute".
On July 21, 2022, students of higher education major 142 "Energy engineering" studying under the educational program "Compressors, pneumatic units and vacuum equipment" during their industrial practice went on an excursion to the "SENSI" company. The company is one of the leaders in the region, engaged in the development and production of a wide range of piston compressors for various fields of application.
The tour was conducted by the first deputy general director Dmytro GALINSKY, who introduced the future specialists to the main directions of the company's work, the range of products produced, the capacities of its own production and the work of the design department, where the calculation and design of compressor equipment takes place. But the main purpose of the visit was the opportunity to observe the tests of the argon piston compressor, which will be sent to the customer very soon.

Today, June 21, 2022, the next defense of bachelor's theses in specialty 142 "Energy engineering" took place (educational programs "Refrigerating machines and installations" and "Compressors, pneumatic units and vacuum equipment"). By a joint decision of the examination commission, eight graduates were awarded the qualification "Bachelor of Power Engineering", including two with honors. Congratulations to the graduates!

On June 15, 2022, the Department of Technical Thermophysics of Sumy State University held an online defense of the qualification papers of bachelors in the specialty 142 "Energy Engineering", educational program "Refrigerating Machines and Installations". The graduates studied remotely and taking into account the previously obtained junior bachelor's diploma at the Drohobytsk Professional College of Oil and Gas (Lviv region) for 1 year and 10 months, successfully completed their studies and will soon receive bachelor's degrees in power engineering.This was the second graduation of students through distance education and now they plan to continue their studies and obtain master's degrees.
